Tampons can be worn overnight as long as they’re not in for more than 8 hours. To lower the risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS), it’s important to change your tampon every 4–8 hours. If you typically sleep longer, or want extra peace of mind, consider using a pad or our period underwear for overnight protection.

How often should I change a tampon or pad?

We recommend changing pads every 2–3 hours, or sooner if they become saturated, to stay fresh and comfortable. Tampons should be changed every 4–8 hours—never longer than 8 hours—to lower the risk of Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS). Pads don’t carry the risk of TSS, but they should still be changed regularly for your comfort and health.

If you have a light to moderate flow, our regular pads are ideal. For heavier flow days or overnight protection, our heavy absorbency pads provide extra coverage and protection. Managing your diaper order has never been so easy! *Recipients of Gift a Subscription do not yet have the ability to modify orders via text.
