A Doctor’s Journey to Clean Diapers & Values-Aligned Living

By Dr. Lyndsi Davenport, DO | Internal Medicine Physician, Wife, and Homeschooling Mom of Three
When I began my journey into medicine, I never imagined diapers would be a part of the conversation. But here I am—seven years into motherhood, deeply passionate about what we put on our children just as much as what we put in them. As a doctor of osteopathic medicine, I’ve always approached health holistically. And as a mom of three—ages 7, 5, and 2—I know firsthand that clean living isn’t just a buzzword. It’s a way of life.
My husband Warren and I began rethinking everything in 2013: the food in our pantry, the cleaning products in our cabinets, and eventually, the baby products we trusted on our children’s skin. That shift only deepened when I became pregnant in 2017. Like many parents, I wanted the best for my babies—but I also wanted the safest. That meant research. A lot of research.
The Wake-Up Call: What the Science Says
One pivotal moment for me came when I read a study published by the American Academy of Pediatrics on Food Additives and Child Health. It opened my eyes to how certain additives—like nitrates, BPA, and artificial dyes—can quietly harm our children’s health. That one paper radically shifted how I saw my role not just as a doctor, but as a mother.
Then came a 2016 study published in Pediatric Dermatology on diaper additives and skin health. It outlined how seemingly "normal" diaper ingredients—fragrances, chlorine, preservatives—can contribute to diaper dermatitis. That research hit home. Our babies wear diapers 24 hours a day for the first few years of life. If we care about what touches their mouths or goes into their bodies, we should absolutely care about what goes on their skin.
A Diaper Connoisseur… Until I Found The One
I’ve tried every diaper on the market—Pampers Pure, 7th Generation, Honest. You name it, we’ve tested it. I’m a diaper connoisseur at this point. So when I heard about EveryLife through Public Square, I was intrigued. I placed one of the very first orders.
And I haven’t looked back since.
My youngest daughter has never had a diaper rash. Not one. No leaks. No blowouts. And best of all? I can finally trust what’s going on her skin. EveryLife diapers are made without elemental chlorine, synthetic fragrances, phthalates, parabens, dyes – or anything harmful. They’re ultra-soft, high-performing, and – very importantly, they align with my personal values.
Skin: Our Largest Organ, and a Gateway
People often forget that skin is an organ. And not just any organ—it’s our body’s largest and one of the most absorbent. Babies’ skin is especially delicate, meaning they’re more vulnerable to toxins.
Even so-called “clean” diaper brands can sneak in harmful additives. As a mom and a doctor, that’s unacceptable to me. I always tell patients and friends: flip the box over. Read the label. If you wouldn’t put it in your baby's mouth, why are you putting it on their skin 24/7?
Shopping Your Values—Because It Matters
What shocked me most as I continued down the rabbit hole of diaper research was learning where many mainstream diaper brands send their profits. Several of the biggest names in baby products back organizations that fund or support abortion. As someone who believes deeply in the value of every life, that was devastating. It’s hard to stomach the idea that these companies profit from children while supporting the destruction of the very lives they claim to serve.
That’s where EveryLife is different. This isn’t just a clean diaper brand—it’s a conviction-driven brand. They don’t just protect your baby’s skin. They stand up for their future.
Changing Lives—Literally
Now, as an EveryLife Ambassador, I keep extra diapers in my office to hand out to new moms. I donate them to my daughter’s preschool nursery. And thanks to the Changing Lives Club, I get to donate diapers every third month of my subscription to a local pro-life pregnancy resource center.
The convenience? Incredible. I’m busy—between running a practice, homeschooling, and parenting three kids, I don’t have time for “complicated.” With EveryLife, I literally reply with a number to update our diaper size. And at just $79 a month, I’m spending far less than I was before.
A Final Thought: Trust Yourself, Mama
Even as a doctor, I’ve learned that you have to trust your instincts. Just because something is labeled “safe” doesn’t mean it’s truly safe. COVID taught us all that critical thinking and personal responsibility matter more than ever.
I love seeing other moms start to ask questions, dig into labels, and let their values guide their spending. It’s beautiful to witness. I believe we’re on the edge of a generational shift—and EveryLife is right at the center of it.
If you're looking for a diaper that’s as clean, safe, and values-driven as the rest of your lifestyle, I can say from experience: this is it.
